Mike’s Mellow Moment – 13 December 2015

10 days to go and it seems the world’s gone mad – people elbowing each other out of the way on the high street, pushing and tutting in stores. Is it all worth it?! In 2 weeks time “it” will all be over bar the shouting and hopefully people will slowly get back to normal.

In the meantime ironically I’m rushing off to work at Broadcasting House in London; so wish me luck facing the hoards of Christmas shoppers on Oxford and Regent Street! Next week I’ll be reading the news overnight on Radio 2 from around 2300 (Saturday 19 December) through until around 0730 I think on Sunday morning. So if you can join me for one of the bulletins it’ll be like old times…almost!

This week’s Mellow Moment gives us seven minutes of blissful relaxation so that we can lose ourselves in an oasis of tranquility. As we drift away let’s think of all those who need that bit more love this Christmas time. And as we do, joining hands, we’ll also gain strength for our own tasks in the week ahead. Stay safe – and calm – out there. You know it makes sense!
