Mike’s Mellow Moment – 07 January 2018

Twelfth Night has passed and so has 2017. Never again will we write those numbers on our cheques; unless of course you’re buying something for that exact amount, which would be random, yet plausible!

So here we are with a brand new, shiny year ahead of us. What will it bring? According to astrologers there’s an almighty lot going on in the heavens; while gurus tell us that if we say YES to the present moment and let go of our ego – that which clings firmly onto the outcome of everything – we can start to be guided by the Universe so that we don’t worry about the past or future as all that matters is right now.

To start us off in fine fettle, here are some inspired words from Neale Donald Walsch, a great thinker and inspirer. I hope it helps set us off on a year of adventure, exploration and triumphs….

I awoke one night in the New Year five years ago with eight words filling my mind.
They were being spoken to me, one after the other, softly, as if someone was whispering in my ear. Here are the words I heard, over and over again, until I had to get out of bed and write them down.

Decide. Define. Delete. Declare. Deny. Demonstrate. Determine. Delight.

I had no idea why these eight words were being given to me. But there they were. I was hearing them over and over in my head, so I went to my laptop and typed them into a document.

Decide. Define. Delete. Declare. Deny. Demonstrate. Determine. Delight.

Then I typed them in again, this time one at a time, leaving a space after each, as if there was more to come.

Decide…
Define…
Delete…
Declare…
Deny…
Demonstrate…
Determine…
Delight…

Then I closed my eyes and imagined that there was more to come. Then I opened my eyes, went back to the list, and added the first thing that came to my mind as I read the words afresh.

Here is what came out…

Decide…who you really are
Define…what it is to be that
Delete…any word or action unlike that
Declare…the truth that you are that
Deny…any notion you are not that
Demonstrate…every aspect of self that is that
Determine…in every moment and situation to remain that
Delight…in seeing others as that

And I heard…

“You have just been given The Eightfold Path to Divinity.”

And I humbly gift those words to you in the hope that they will also provide you with inspiration. We are each advised to follow the path to Divinity that speaks to us if we wish to use this lifetime as our Soul intended it to be used. May that promise be yours in the coming year.
