Mike’s Mellow Moment – 08 October 2017

Click here to hear this Mellow Moment –

Random acts of kindness. Modern day gurus repeat the mantras of historical teachers that each day we should try our best to let the people we come in contact with feel just that bit better. We can do that with a smile, as homeless man Ian – Race C Calmer – does on a daily basis to the thousands he encounters on Regent Street. He’s been missing for a few days and in his place? Just a pot of lavender and a sign telling people that they’re amazing. Maybe we can do that in the coming week in our own way?

A few weeks back Dawn gave us the inspirational message that we, like the children she cares for, should Stop. Look. Listen. Staring out of my train on my commute this week I saw the exact same sign out of the window. So I did and this is what happened:

A man randomly came up to me in a busy London street and said:

‘…you lucky man”.

A woman started signing at me in the supermarket:

“Things can only get better”

and a random sign on a roofing van said simply:

“Make it happen”.

What messages will you get this week if you make time to smile, perform your acts of kindness, then stop, look and listen. Someone somewhere is trying to tell you something…..
