HAPPY SOLSTICE!
Well we made it Gang, British Summer Time is only a week away! After a cold, dank and grey winter there will be dry, sunny and increasingly warmer days ahead. And as of today’s Spring Solstice (it happened at 0430), the days get longer and the nights shorter….
Today’s Mellow Moment is an upbeat track reminding us that new growth, revitalisation and all manner of possibilities tie in with spring, today’s Solstice and of course next week’s celebration of Easter. Many moons ago my Gran used to tell me to “get a decent job instead of disc jockey”, so I did for a couple of decades until I came full circle. It’s uncanny that in the week of the anniversary of her death, I choose a track that seemingly has some of her words at the beginning!
For Christian’s this “Holy” week ahead is highly symbolic but it is also special for many world religions and faiths, including Judaism with the Passover and Paganism with the Solstice representing new birth and possibility. As everyone commemorates a shift of seasons, recalls momentous historic events and reflects how things can – and will – change, I’d like to offer you a week ahead full of meaning, purpose and fulfilment. To help us achieve that, this positive and reassuring chill out track together should set us on our way…..
